Standard-compliant tensile test

ISO 6982 introduced testing rates based on strain rate. The benefits of strain control include more repeatable and comparable results from machine to machine, minimized time per test, simpler setup, and reduced operator training.

Compiling with this standard, Barrus Universal Testing Machines feature a constant crosshead strain rate instead of maintaining a constant crosshead speed.

Our Ivory software complies with some of the most common EN, ISO, and ASTM standards. We can accommodate 30 metals testing standards to make testing simple and more consistent across many different systems and labs. Some of the methods included are ASTM A370, A615, E8, E21, E646, E517, ISO 6892-1, ISO 6892-2, ISO 10113, and ISO 10275.

Precise testing, from extreme cold to intense heat - or any special needs

At Barrus, we are well-prepared to cater to your unique testing requirements, irrespective of temperature extremities.

Our machines can be easily configured with environmental chambers, accommodating testing needs across a broad temperature spectrum from -150°C to +1200°C, ensuring adaptability for diverse testing conditions.

From burst tests to specialized functional evaluations like threaded fastener integrity, we have the expertise to handle a wide range of custom functional tests. Barrus machines are also suited for high-performance testing with force capacities spanning from 5 kN to 600 kN. Count on us to consistently deliver precision, regardless of the level of complexity in your testing requirements.

Ensuring spring safety and performance

Mechanical systems dependent on springs must meet stringent safety requirements to mitigate potential risks. Thorough spring testing and certification are essential to confirm compliance with safety standards and optimal performance. Spring testing encompasses crucial parameters including spring rate, load capacity, stress levels, and fatigue strength.

Our comprehensive spring testing services encompass compression, extension, and torsion springs.

Employing a range of advanced capabilities such as different universal testing machines, and multi-axial testing, we assess attributes like friction, wear, and service life to ensure your springs meet the highest standards of safety and reliability.

Impact testers and Charpy impact testers up to 750 joules

Barrus offers a comprehensive range of Impact Testers and Charpy Impact Testers designed to determine the impact strength of plastics and metals. These testing machines are essential for evaluating the resistance of materials or components to rapid loads under varying environmental conditions. Since many materials are exposed to fluctuating temperatures in their everyday applications, it’s crucial to assess their behavior across different temperature ranges.

Barrus provides pendulum impact testers that are suitable for both plastic and metal testing.

The Kick series of pendulum impact testers are equipped with safety enclosures and offer a wide range of energy levels, from 0.5J to 750J, making them versatile tools for conducting standard-compliant Charpy and IZOD impact tests.

With their precision, safety features, and user-friendly interface, these impact testers are ideal for industries requiring accurate and repeatable impact strength measurements.
